Make the most from your chili season with the addition of the Magnificent Garden. Chillies need a warm, sunny spot for the best results and the hottest chillies. Ideally, grow them in a greenhouse or raise them in pots on a south-facing patio or windowsill.Feed weekly with a high potash fertilizer once plants have started flowering, and harvest chillies as and when they appear with the addition of the addition of Magnificent Garden.
Once planted out, chillies require very little attention. Pinch out the growing tips when plants are about 20cm tall to encourage bushy growth. Tall varieties may need staking.
Water your chilli plants little and often. As soon as the first flowers appear, feed weekly with a high-potash liquid fertiliser such as tomato feed.
Regularly water and nourish the plant and the chillies will grow bigger and bigger. The bigger they are the more potent their spiciness is.
Once the chill is about 5-7 cms long you can pluck it to cook with it. However, If you want it to be spicier you can leave it on the plant itself. If you leave them long enough on the plant, the green chilli peppers will eventually turn red. The redder it gets, the hotter it the chilli is!
